GENERAL ENGLISH

Enroll in this if you would like to improve your communication in different cultural or social situations. It will cover speaking, listening and conversation, grammar structures, vocabulary and pronunciation. No matter what your starting level is, you will build up your confidence fast. General English can be combined with other activities e.g. English and surfing see below. Entry at any level of the 7 levels available.

CAMBRIDGE CERTIFICATE COURSE PREPARATIONS

Our provider offers 3 different exam preparations of the International recognized Cambridge certificates. All levels require examinations and range between 10 and 12 weeks depending on term and location. Most courses run 3 or 4 times a year. Fees range between $3050 - $4200 depending on location and length of course

Preparation for the English Cambridge Preliminary Test ( PET ) (Sydney only)

Preparation in 4 skill area’s: speaking, comprehensions, vocabulary, writing. Gain international recognized certificate and it is ideal preparation for FCE and beyond.

Preparation for the Cambridge First Certificate ( FCE )

Preparation in the 5 skill area’s that will be tested in the exam: Grammar, speaking, comprehension, vocabulary, writing. The international recognized Cambridge first certificate is for students that like to work abroad or develop a career that requires good English language skills such as Business, management, tourism. This is the most popular course of all the Cambridge courses.

Preparation for the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English ( CAE )

Preparation in the 5 skill area’s that will be tested in the exam: Grammar, speaking, comprehensions, vocabulary, writing. This course will prepare you to a high English competency level to sit the exam for the international recognized Cambridge certificate in advanced English. Your ability is almost comparable to that of a native speaker. You might be already working in English and can be a requirement for specific university courses.

ENGLISH FOR LIFE (Sydney only)

If you are not the type to sit indoors in a formal classroom setting all day, and do want to improve your English while in Australia or just simply have fun, this (English and get a Sydney life) course is for you. This highly popular new course is a great way of combining being a tourist and improving your English with a teacher to give you “real Life” experiences. In the morning you will explore Sydney, examples for the 2nd week time table are, visiting the Art gallery, Cinema, the historical are of Sydney’s Rocks, Customs house, café’s and restaurants etc, etc. After lunch you discuss the morning’s activity for an hour, this includes writing and grammar of your own web blog or for example writing a reply to a review or you might like to do a small presentation. The last hour is used to prepare and discuss next day’s activity. Course duration is 4 weeks, and 22.5 hours per week face to face contact. Assessment: grades and comments for you web blog on your reflection, written style and accuracy. And you will receive grades and comments on conversation, comprehension, risk taking self-improvement. Tuition fee $1400 for 4 weeks (does not cover books materials, registration etc)

ENGLISH AND SURFING (Sydney and Noosa)

Imagine learning and improving your English and learning (or improving) to surf at Sydney’s Bondi beach or at Noosa on the sunshine coast. How much fun can learning be? Can’t sit still inside the classroom all week while the Sun, surf and the beach are waiting for you? This 2 week course is for you. Your part time English classes cover all key language skill areas.  At Sydney’s Bondi beach you will receive 10 x 2 hour surf lessons and in Noosa 8. All equipment rental is included. Fee $ 900 / $1060 (Noosa / Sydney) for 2 weeks (includes surf equipment but not registration etc) Start every Monday

English Study and Demi Pair Placement

Combine study (General English or Cambridge courses) and living in a host family, As a Demi Pairs (half Au Pair) you normally attend language classes during the day (typically 8.00-14.00) and help the family in  the afternoons with after school care, school pick up, bath and cooking from 3.00 pm till 7.00/7.30 pm. You need to consider this program very carefully as it is very intense and not everyone has the level of energy to keep up the phase of study, work, and complete your class work 5 days a week for several months. In exchange for 20 hours work (working holiday and student visa holders) you will receive accommodation / board and a minimum of $100 a week. This will be enough for your transport and entertainment please be aware that this will not cover the cost of the course. You will need good domestic skills and experience with children.

Min 16 weeks enrollment including 2 weeks home stay accommodation. Demi Pair placement Fee $ 595, this includes 8 hours intensive orientation course to make your Au Pair stay a success

ACCOMODATION

Home stay

Get immersed into English and stay with a screened English speaking family. It is a great way to practice your English and you get an insight into Australian way of life, culture and cuisine. All families are in easy reach of the school (or city in case you are not attending classes). Included in home stay is breakfast and dinner 7days a week and lunch on the weekends.

Guest Houses and Hostels.

We have a number of guesthouses and hostels we use for our students. With options of single room and shared rooms, bathrooms, etc with and with out meals or cooking facilities. When deciding please keep in mind the course you are attending, for instance a shared room and attending Cambridge preparation courses will not work, it will not give you enough “peace and quite” to study, while this may be a perfect solution for a surf and English or “leisure English” student. Please discuss with us before you make your accommodation request

VISA.

You can study on a working holiday visa for up to 6 months, or you can apply for a student visa.

Working holiday visa ‘s are issued to Passport  holders from Germany, Denmark, Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Canada, U.K, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malta, Norway, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Taiwan, Estonia and Finland.
